I won't do much of a recap on Anime North as I really didn't do much at the convention itself lololol. Didn't enter the masquerade either.  I did see a lot of people that I haven't seen for a while and also met a couple of American ones!  yay!

For Anime Expo, I haven't fully decided on my lineup yet.  Depends on what I can finish I guess, haha, but ideally, I'd like to do the following:



I'm making Rei my priority because I WANT TO SIT IN THE F-ING ROBOT.  No not really, but there's gonna be a lifesize cockpit at Anime Expo and that's ALMOST THE SAME.

So in all seriousness, I haven't updated in so long.  For those who don't follow me on facebook.  Katsucon in Febuary happened.  I won't write a recap of it because it'll take too long and I'm lazy but it was a gorgeous venue and for that I enjoyed it.  The other aspects weren't fantastic (but not bad or anything), its just wasn't amazing for me, but maybe my expectations were too high.

Got tagged by a kawaii otouto over in Vancouver~

But...I don't like rules, so I'm gonna be a rebel and not follow them.

1.  I'm not much of a talker, especially around people I don't know or aren't familiar with.  For this reason, I suck at making small talk or initiating conversations.  Most often, if I'm with someone I don't know very well, I'll just sit there awkwardly and not say anything... Does not mean I'm shy/introverted, I'm just terrible at coming up with topics to talk about ;___;

2. Yet I talk to myself sometimes, when I'm alone...without realizing it >___>

3. I eat pretty much anything and everything.  Not picky with food at all, the only thing I can't handle is spicy things D:  It buurrrnnns.

4. I love my waistline, I hate my thighs (and my eyebags)

5. I feel self-conscious about my age when I look at all the young'ins at conventions.  I'D LIKE TO BE FOREVER YOUNG PLZ.

6. When I feel I'm too old to cosplay, I think I'll take up photography. hurrhurr.

2012 was a big year for me cosplay-wise, I got more involved with the hobby, made more difficult costumes, had more photoshoots and participated in masquerades.

Anime North - Sakura
     2 Awards: Best Journeyman (Presentation) & Most Accurate Journeyman
Con-Bravo - Magna Carta girl (with KakeranoTsuki)
     Award: Best in Show    
Otakuthon - Chise
     2 Awards: Best Ultimate Weapon & Most Dramatic Presentation in Artisan class

This advances me to Masters class for my next masquerade!

Videos

2012 marked the start of participating in something I've never done before; cosplay videos.  Its a lot harder than doing photoshoots because it involves acting and memorizing choreography, but its definitely been a great experience for me. I've participated in 4 videos this year:

Was going to write this up weeks ago, but never got around to it ;___; Warning that this is very picture heavy!

As you all probably already know from my photo updates, Kurai-Hisaki, Bonkersjune16, vickybunnyangel, k-e-l-s and I participated in making a fan-made Madoka short film over the course of several weeks in August.  Coordinating it was pretty hard since the girls and Trevor (person shooting the film) had different schedules to work around.  We also had to get together beforehand to choreograph and practice the battle scenes.  In fact, Kitsurie and I practiced our battle scenes during the night on the ConBravo weekend since its hard for us to meet up (Sleep is for the weeaaaakkk! _{but I AM weak...''OTL} ).  Jelly and Vicky practiced on their own beforehand and then pieced it together on the day of their shoot.  And Hisaki...well, she practiced her running

We shot at several different locations, first off is an abandoned building where Homura and Mami have their gunfight.  We also shot the ending scene on the rooftop

Next is a graffiti filled alleyway where Sayaka and Kyouko (me) have their epic duel We spent about 5 hours shooting this scene (which will probably be condensed into less than a minute in the video ;__; ).

Then we shot at a local elementary school in the Madoka school uniforms. Except for me, cuz Kyouko is a dropout >__>  _{ohoho, such a rebel I am}
It was an interesting experience because there was a high school football game going on right beside us LOL

Finally, Kurai-Hisaki ran a marathon up hills, a forest and a bridge to finish the final scenes of the film.  NOW THE WAIT BEGINS (or rather the editing begins for the videographer ).
